One of the legacies of the Olympic 2012 opening night will be that Aidan Burley, MP, will have his Twitter account taken away from him, well one would hope that would happen after his tweets on the Olympic opening night, his comments went viral and shows the underlying ethos of the Conservative Party, one of intolerance and a pathological hatred to one of the greatest achievements of this country – NHS.
After attending a Nazi themed ‘Stag Party‘ and then allegedly tweeting and then falling asleep during a lecture in Auchwitz (no doubt as penance) this idiot decides to deride the Olympic opening cerenomy as being ‘leftie. His two tweets during the events went viral.
The tweets that went viral were:
The most leftie opening ceremony I have ever seen – more than Beijing, the capital of a communist state! Welfare tribute next?”
Well Mr Burley I would have the entire programme being about the Welfare State, because not only was this the greatest achievement in the 20th Century of this country, and removed millions from abject poverty, it is also being decimated by your Government.
The Welfare State was protected by successive Governments, Tory and Labour alike, it is your Government that is destroying it. The next tweet was the killer.
Thank God the athletes have arrived! Now we can move on from leftie multi-cultural crap. Bring back red arrows. Shakespeare and the Stones”
Oh dear, in the words of @OwenJones84 “ … Oh.My.God”
It says something that a celebration of the United Kingdom involves socialist ideals, not much to shout about or celebrate from the massive cuts to the Welfare Budget, a rise in Food Kitchens and massive youth unemployment.
Looking back over the past 100 years it is hard to find a Conservative Government that achieved anything of lasting value, the Tories have tended to be divisive and regressive.
If the opening ceremony was ‘Leftie’ than I am happy to wear that badge as a badge of honour.
This tweets was that he was ‘misunderstood’ – if this was the case then perhaps he should hone his communication skills, after all being an MP they would come in useful.
The election of Mr Burley is a lesson to the British electorate, vote young and inexperienced and you are likely to end up with someone who attends Nazi themed Stag Parties in the South of France, tweets from Auschwitz and makes offensive remarks at national celebration.
It is hoped that this is the final mistake he has made before he is deselected, Aidan Burley is not only an embarrassment to the Conservative Party, he is an embarrassment to the nation.
